2022 Chevy Colorado Trail Boss Release Date, Colors, Models – The Trail Boss package for the 2022 Chevy Colorado is available in conjunction with all 2022 Chevy Colorado powertrain options.
The 2022 Chevy Colorado offers the Trail Boss package for both the LT and Z71 trim levels, and only with four-wheel drive. Both the LT and Z71 trims are available in Extended Cab, Crew Cab / Short Box, and Crew Cab / Long Box body configurations. For other informations about this models click here.
2022 Chevy Colorado Trail Boss Models
Although the 2022 Chevy Colorado Z71 four-wheel trim level can only be specified with the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LGZ gasoline engine, the LT Extended Cab is available with either the 3.6L V6 LGZ or the naturally aspirated 2.5L I4 LCV gasoline engine. Meanwhile, LT and Z71 Crew Cab models are available with either the 3.6L V6 LGZ or the 2.8L I4 LWN turbodiesel Duramax.
As such, the Trail Boss package is available in conjunction with all three powertrain options for the 2022 Chevy Colorado, depending on the trim level and configuration selected.

As a reminder, the naturally aspirated 2.5L I4 LCV gasoline engine is rated at 200 horsepower and 191 pound-feet of torque, the naturally aspirated 3.6: V6 LGZ is rated at 308 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque, and the 2.8L I4 LWN is rated at 181 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque.
2022 Chevy Colorado Trail Boss Colors, Interior
The Trail Boss package comes dealer-installed (and thus warranty covered) on 2022 Chevy Colorado LT and Z71 pickups, and straight-up adds a whole one-inch to the ground clearance with a front-leveling kit. It rides on all-black 17-inch aluminum wheels from the ZR2 accessory catalog and is wrapped in Goodyear Duratrac tires (for the Z71). The front and the mid of the vehicle get skidplates and also comes with an automatic locking rear differential.

The Trail Boss looks snazzy too, with black Colorado and Bow Tie emblems, and front tow hooks in red. The front air dam is also removed for a sleeker look but mind you, you cannot combine it with any of the existing packages, like the Chrome Appearance, Redline Special Edition, or the Midnight Edition packages.
2022 Chevy Colorado Trail Boss Release Date And Price
If you take the Trail Boss package on the Chevy Colorado LT, there’s an extra $2,995, taking the price of the vehicle to $31,890, MSRP. On the Colorado Z71, the extra bit is $2,895, taking the total MSRP to $38,890.

That’s not much for a one-inch lift, skid plates, and even better tires, right? The Chevy Colorado is definitely perking up in reliability ratings and is appreciated for its high-towing capacity as well as capable engines. It also has a smooth ride and rather easy-to-use infotainment features. That said, the lack of safety features and low safety score still tells us that Chevrolet really needs to work on the Chevy Colorado, and not just in a cosmetic manner. With less than appealing interiors as well cramped insides, the Chevy Colorado still needs more lifting up, although you have to appreciate the one-inch suspension life that the Trail Boss brings.
